Checklist For Making Sure the Move Route is Clear

There are four important factors to check to see if the route is clear. We will assist you in evaluating what needs to be done in order to move your building.

  • 1. Tree Trimming

The route needs to be checked for any overgrown branches that might come in the way of moving the structure. Trees or Limbs within the projected route can cause damage to your building thus must be cut down or trimmed to enable a secure transfer. You can hire a professional tree service before the move to ensure the route is clear.

  • 2. Overhead Utility Lines

Depending on the height, there might be a need to move the utility lines. We can give you the number for the ‘loaded height,’ which you can then share with all the utility companies, including electrical, phone, and cable companies. They will either give you their hourly rate or a firm price for sending their crew out and raising it.

  • 3. Traffic Control

There might be a need to control the traffic while we move the building to the new location. It can be as small as stopping the traffic for allowing us to cross or a full detour of the traffic while we come through. You or your contractor must get in touch with the local police or the traffic planner to see what is required for the route.

  • 4. Excavation

When moving a home, excavation might not just be limited to excavating for the new foundation in your new location. You might also need to excavate parts of the route depending on the new site. There might be a need to take the route which does not have a paved road. While we do have equipment that can go to most terrains, there still might be a need to have parts of the route excavated. This is something we can go over with you and give you your options after evaluating the route.
